When our closets become a tangled mess it literally feels like they have a strangle-hold on our lives. And even if you're motivated to make a change, it's hard to know where to begin. Breaking the problem down into a short series of actionable steps is an effective strategy to success. The approach we use to help our clients achieve their goals is outlined below in five easy steps.

5 Steps to the Perfect Closet

  1. Define your problem: What's not working in your closet? Do you need more hanging space, more shelves for folded clothing, or drawers? Are shoes a problem  to fit in?
  2. Set Goals: Develop a clear vision of what you would like to accomplish in the remodeling of your closet. Establish priorities based on solving your biggest problem.
  3. Inventory your wardrobe: Use the form included in our Closet Planning Guide. You can download this form on the blog page of our web site. By assessing your wardrobe needs you can gain a realistic picture of how you need to use the space in your new closet.
  4. Develop a Plan: Map out your closet wall by wall specifying components that accommodate the inventory you made. Work with your designer to develop a plan that maximizes the use of your space in a way that is aesthetically pleasing, convenient to use, and, above all, solves your problem.
  5. Implement Your Plan: Remove all the clothing from your closet the day before your installation. Purge the items you don't wear, don't fit, or are worn. Look over your walls to determine whether you wish to paint them. A closet installation usually takes less than a day, so you'll be putting things away in your new closet the next afternoon or evening.

Have any questions? All we talk about all day, every day, is closets. Ask away.
